USSF/NASRA Law Changes Training

  • Merrimack Soccer Central 3501 Southwest Triana Boulevard Huntsville, AL, 35805 United States (map)

With the club season starting up, there are some critical rule changes this year that all referees must be aware of to ensure consistency and fairness in our matches.

Key Topics:

  • Law 12 - There has been a significant change regarding the goalkeeper. A GK who controls the ball with their hands(s)/arm(s) for more than 8 seconds, a corner kick is awarded to the opposing team. You must understand the visual and verbal procedures required before calling for a corner kick in these situations.

  • Law 3- Communication with Captains Only Guideline

  • Law 8- The Start and Restart of Play - Dropped Ball

All referees must understand and implement these changes. Please make an effort to attend at least one of the upcoming meetings to stay up to date.
